Can you actually sell a graded Pokémon card in Europe?
Data as of · 146,140 sales in the 90 days to 25 October 2026 · Published
Often not quickly. Of the graded card slots worth €20 or more on 25 October 2026, 66% had no EU sale in the previous 90 days and 34% had no sale anywhere. PSA 10s are the hardest to sell in Europe: 88% of English PSA 10 slots had no EU sale in 90 days, and none of 91 new Cardmarket listings priced at fair value sold within 3.5 days.

What this means for a collector
- A fair value tells you what a card is worth, not that you can sell it this month in Europe. For most graded cards, plan for weeks to months.
- English PSA 10s do sell, mostly outside the EU: 81% sold somewhere in 90 days, but only 12% sold in the EU. Reaching those buyers usually means eBay or an auction house.
- PSA 9s and PSA 8s are easier to sell in Europe: about half of English PSA 9 and PSA 8 slots had an EU sale in 90 days.
- There is rarely a queue of copies. The cheapest graded listing says little about what a second or third copy would fetch.
- Selling several copies of the same card in one week costs you: each extra sale of the same card and grade within a week cleared about 1.2% lower.
How deep the market is
Sale shares say how often a slot trades. These measures of liquidity say what happens when you try to sell, and how many copies the market can take.
| Measure | Result | Sample |
|---|---|---|
| New Cardmarket listings within 5% of fair value that sold within 3.5 days | 0 of 91 | Listings first seen 21–25 Oct 2026 |
| PSA 9.5 and 10 Cardmarket listings with a third copy for sale | none | Every graded 9.5 and 10 slot listed on 24 Oct 2026 |
| Third-cheapest listing above the cheapest, median | +42.9% | 10,983 slots, all grades |
| Price change per extra sale of the same card and grade within ±7 days | −1.23% | 149,211 sales of 1,249 cards |
| Slots worth €20+ with no sale anywhere in 30 days | 57.9% | 17,159 slots |

Our liquidity analysis took its snapshot at 21:39 UTC on 25 October 2026. We ran the same count again on 26 October against the same 17,159 slots, after more sales up to 25 October had arrived. The shares moved by half a point or less.
| Count | No sale anywhere | No EU sale |
|---|---|---|
| Research snapshot, 25 Oct 2026 | 40.4% (6,934) | 63.4% (10,880) |

Method and limits
How we measured it
- A slot is one card in one language at one grade, or one condition for raw cards. We took every slot with a fair value of €20 or more on 25 October 2026 (17,159 slots on 701 cards) and checked whether that exact slot had a completed sale in the 90 days to 25 October: 146,140 sales across all slots.
- Cardmarket does not publish completed sales. We count a listing that disappeared and did not come back as a sale, and treat it as an EU sale.
- The 3.5-day test followed every Cardmarket listing first seen from 21 October 2026 priced within 5% of the fair value. The third-copy measure uses every Cardmarket listing on 24 October. The same-week effect compares sales of the same card in the same month, on sales from 2018 to October 2026, 85% of them from 2026.
What it can’t tell you
- We have collected Cardmarket listings only since 21 October 2026, so the EU shares are a floor and the 3.5-day test is short. It shows that selling at fair value is not quick, not how long it takes.
- An inferred sale can be wrong: a seller may take a card down without selling it.
- All 701 cards are from the EX era (2003–2007) and its promos. Modern cards may trade differently.
- A sale of a slot may be a different copy from yours: a PSA 10 with a worse centring or a raw card at the edge of near-mint.
- Confidence is medium on the sale shares, the depth and the same-week effect, and low on any time-to-sell, which these data cannot measure yet.
